TJ Vilkanskas

TJ moved to Manhattan, KS at a young age and the community has been home ever since. A graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in Business Management, TJ learned the development and construction world from his clients while serving as a commercial loan officer in Kansas City and Manhattan. He founded Back 9 in 2012 on the core values of responsiveness, transparency, and accountability with a focus on creating products that emphasize quality and high performance.

TJ is married to Lori and they are the proud parents of 4 children, Kaitlyn, Davis, Vivian, and Lillian. If you can't find him on a job-site or in the office check his driveway where he's probably shooting hoops with the kids.

Back 9 symbolizes both the allure of exceptional real estate and the pursuit of excellence when striving to achieve a goal.

Growing up, TJ was fortunate to participate in numerous golf tournaments all over the country. While on the golf course, he was quickly inspired by the presence of the stunning, distinctive homes situated along the back 9 holes. Additionally, the clubhouses were positioned behind the 18th green, serving as a focal point completing the round. He also came to understand that in a golf tournament, you need to excel on the back 9 to secure victory.

Today, Back 9 Development is a Kansas home builder that crafts quality, high performance custom homes to bring our client's vision to reality. To date, we've built over $50,000,000 in custom homes throughout the greater Manhattan and Kansas City Markets as we continue to strive for excellence and grow.
